General Volunteer Roles

Fundraising

 Raise funds for lung health research and services for people living with lung disease by:

  • helping to organize or volunteering at a special fundraising event
  • raising money by organizing your own event
  • helping with In Honour, In Memoriam and bequest donations 

Leadership

Provide leadership to help achieve The Lung Association’s goals and objectives in your community by:

  • sitting as a member of the board, council, committee or advisory group
  • providing support and resources to other volunteers and contributing to volunteer development initiatives

Information outreach

Promote The Lung Association in your community by:

  • talking about The Lung Association at community events
  • distributing posters, brochures and other materials to local outlets
  • promoting messages in schools, community groups, cultural organizations and in the workplace by making presentations and setting up displays

Administration

Support your Lung Association community office by:

  • answering the phones and greeting visitors
  • providing general clerical support such as data entry, filing, photocopying and posting mail
  • processing donations and preparing receipts

Public issues

Become active in advocacy efforts by:

  • writing letter to different levels of government
  • encouraging communication with local politicians to help influence lung health policy development
